Aa is for Artist!
This week we are learning the letter Aa. We became artists by going outside and drawing pictures of the machinery working on our grounds.
Miss Collins showed us how to draw the detail we saw, like the lights, bumpy wheels etc.
This week we are using adjectives in our writing to make it more interesting. We will be describing the machines we saw, painting a picture with our words.

Discovery Time
Every Friday we have discovery time. This is a great time for the children to direct their own learning and choose what they would like to do.
We have a focus each week that links in with our school values: this week our focus was showing Respect by sharing and taking turns.
Aurora enjoyed sharing the home corner with her friends.
Xavier shared his Lego with some very eager kakano children. The boys were a delight to watch and talk to. They were taking turns and listening carefully to Xavier about how he built the Lego.

Zavier was sharing the pirate ship and trucks with Michael.
Awards This Week!
Ka pai Lorenzo, Riley, Ngatea, Abigail, Shreya, Larissa and Angel. These children recieved a variety of literacy, numeracy and caught being good awards.
Ngatea recieved her award for trying hard to learn her spelling words
Abigail recieved her award for showing Respect by listening to the teacher.
Our weekly team assemblies are a lovely time to celebrate the learning of our Tamariki.
