Room 9 and 10 mudslide
So much fun for a Thursday afternoon.
The class were very excited to hear about the Room 9 and 10 mudslide this afternoon.
We popped out at the end of the day to check out the action.
Good effort Mr Marsh!
What shall we call it?
We are so lucky to be the first school to use the new pipe cleaning machine!
We were lucky to have a special show and touch the robot.
The class went back with Mr Betts and wrote about the robot and gave it a name.
Their work will be entered into the naming competition being held at school.
Some of the suggested names were:
Red racer-protector of the pipe people- Aurora
Doug-Noah
Zoomer-Mitchell, Jaedyn and Asten
Skylar- Ocean, Ferishta and Naomi
Luma- Mualijcia
Anakin- Rocko
Trip to Avonside Early Learning Centre
Earlier on in the Term we went down to meet the children and staff at the Avonside Early Childhood Centre.
Thanks for having us Sue and the team down at the pre school. We had a lovely time and look forward to visiting again soon!!
We asked them if they had a problem we could solve and they said the children in their centre are forgetting to use their walking feet inside.
We went back to school and discussed solutions to the problem. We decided to make some posters and little foot prints to put on the floor as a reminder to use waking feet inside. This week we returned to the preschool and gave them out solution.
While we were there we had a little play and shared some Kai together before returning to school!
Also big thanks to Lin Ashby, Laura parkins, Joe Milne and Mr Betts for making the trip possible and helping to keep our children safe :)
Nn is for nose!
For our language experience this week we watched the story of Pinocchio and played the game pin the nose on Pinocchio.
It was great seeing John help his friends with the blindfold... Ka pai John!
Keeping ourselves safe
Constable Matt came to visit today to talk about being confident kids who say no! We learnt about what to do and say if someone is touch us inappropriately.
The tamariki in Room 2 really enjoyed being helpers and suggesting solutions to the problems in the story.
Behind the scenes at production!
Here is a sneaky peak at what happens behind the scenes at production!
Happy Birthday Elshadaye!
We were so lucky Elshadayes parents brought in a birthday cake to celebrate his special day with us!

The Art Gallery Came to Visit!
We were lucky to have the Christchurch Art Gallery come and visit to teach us about abstract collage. Check out our wonderful work.
Fractions
This week in Maths we are learning about fractions. We started using a chocolate cake, looking at a whole and then a half. We discussed how many pieces the cake was cut into then how many we had on the plate. The children really enjoyed eating it at the end!
Today we made fairy bread and cut it into even halves and quarters. We discussed what fraction we are and what fraction we put in our lunchbox for lunchtime.
