Our School Values: Being Responsible

Being Responsible is one of our School Values. We have been focusing on what we can do in the morning to be responsible for ourselves and our belongings.

We can put our reading folder and lunch box in our desks, hang our bag up, get a chair for our desk and take our shoes off before the 9am bell.

Being a Learner: Kotahitanga

In Health this term we are learning about ourselves and our class mates. We have been looking at what kind of groups we could be a part of. We are all different but we all belong together in Room 2.

We talked about what groups we could be part of. Reading groups, Writing groups and House groups were some we know.

Being a Learner: Discovery Time

On a Thursday afternoon we have Discovery. We get to do lots of fun activities like making goo, playing marble run and Angry Birds, painting, explore sports equipment and we even have a mini Cafe!

Look at some of the things we did!

Our School Values: Being Respectful

We have been learning to be respectful. We can wear our correct uniform, use kind hands, put up our hand to talk and give the teacher '5'.
At Linwood North School we are respectful!

Being a Learner: Exploring our world

We don't have any caterpillars in Room 2 anymore. We have had 2 Butterflies that we set free.

We know about the Butterfly life cycle. First they were an egg, then they hatched into caterpillars. They grew so fast and ate so much swan plant leaves. When they got big and fat they hooked onto the pot plant ledge and turned into a cocoon. 2 weeks later they hatched into butterflies! We watched them fly away into the sky. Now they can go and lay more eggs.

Being Responsible, Being a Learner: Action Stations

In Kakano block we use Action Stations in Reading time. We are responsible for our own learning because we can choose the activities we want to do. Look at some of the activities we can do.

Being a Learner: Observing the Caterpillars

We can't wait to see what happens next.

Welcome to 2016

Being a Learner: Language Experience

Welcome back to school!
We have had a great start to the year in Room 2.

Our letter of the week is 'S' and we had a great time with the Skittles experiment. The colour on the lollies went into the water and the 'S' floated off!

We collected 3 caterpillars for our Swan plants this week, 2 turned into cocoons and we are very excited to see what happens next.
