Celebration of Learning - I Can Sleep!

What a fantastic night :)

It was so cool to see so many families come and celebrate the end of our inquiry/health unit. Mrs Maria Soosai and Miss Clothier really appreciate your effort to bring your children in for our PJ night.

PJ's were checked out, stories were read, milk and a cookie were enjoyed, pictures were coloured.

Singing with Mrs Mackie

We love singing "Shine Bright Like a Diamond" with Mrs Mackie during Music time.

Writing Session with Dr Murray Gadd

Room 2 was very lucky to have the writing guru Murray Gadd come and work with us for a writing session.

we used our fingers while we repeated our sentence to help us remember it

 we locked our sentence in our head.

we used our 'looking words' to help us spell

M is for MONSTERS

We practiced being good listeners by looking at the person who was talking and by sitting still and keeping our hands still.

Week 8 in Room 2

Maths Time

This group are learning to count backwards from 5 and from 10. 

Construction Table

Zayden is problem solving by making his tower wider so it wont fall over as easily.

Morning Work Before School

The boys loved listening to Jack's Dad tell them about the engines and building things in this book.

Duffy Theatre Show

We watched a Duffy show.
In the show, Duffy had to decide how to help a kid who was getting picked on by another kid. He helped her not to be so worried about things, and showed her that by reading she could relax her brain and sleep heaps better
.

Playhouse Theatre - Little Red Robyn Hood

On Monday we got to watch the play of 'Little Red Robyn Hood. It was fantastic!
We really liked watching the actors pretending to be different characters.
They got changed really quickly.
The King was taking everybody's money and Red Robyn Hood gave the money back to the people.

PB4L - Follow instructions from all adults straight away

This week we have been discussing what it looks like when we follow instructions straight away. We also talked about what we could do if we are in the middle of doing something when we get told to stop and pack up.

We could say to the adult, "I haven't finished this yet, what should I do?" etc
